How The Cake Wizard works
A custom cake starts with a conversation. We make that conversation easy to start, with the right people.
Describe your cake
Answer a few quick questions: the occasion, how many it should serve, the style and colors, flavors, any writing, and the date. Add up to three photos of cakes you like.
Compare quotes
We send your request to up to 5 cake makers who cover your area and are free that day. They reply on your private page with a price and what it includes.
Book your cake maker
Accept the quote you like. You and the cake maker get each other's details, and you pay them directly. We take nothing from the price of your cake.
Questions customers ask
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Sending a request and getting quotes is free. You only pay your cake maker for the cake itself, at the price they quoted.
Do I need an account?
No. When you send a request we email you a private link. That link is your page: quotes and messages from cake makers show up there.
Who sees my details?
Cake makers see your first name, your area, the date and what you asked for. Your email and phone number are only shared with the one cake maker whose quote you accept.
What if nobody covers my area?
We are new, so that can happen. We tell you straight away, keep your request open, and email you as soon as a cake maker who covers your area can reply.
How do I pay?
For now you pay your cake maker directly, including any deposit. They will tell you how they take payment. Agree the price, the deposit and what happens if plans change before you pay.
What about allergies?
Tell your cake maker about any allergy before you order and ask how they avoid cross-contact. Many home kitchens also handle nuts, wheat, milk and eggs. The dietary options on a profile are what the cake maker says they offer; we do not test or inspect.
Are the cake makers checked?
Every cake maker confirms that they follow the food and licensing rules where they bake, and we look over each profile before it goes public. A badge on a profile means exactly what it says: "Email verified" means we confirmed their email address, and "License number provided" means they gave us a number, which we do not check. They are independent businesses, so do read their profile and ask questions.
For cake makers
